Tamiko and her husband have been an aqua-farmer (oysters, sea scallops and seaweeds) and a mother at the same time. She lost her house and workplace in Minami-sanriku for the tsunami, but she has resumed her mail-order business with her colleagues in October 2012. They package seasonal products in partnership with other seafood processing plants in the area, and sell them as "Tamiko no Umi Pack(Tamiko's Ocean Pack)".
She mostly sells her seafood boxes through her website and Facebook page. She sometimes sells at local events as well. Her business is successful, and another mother works for her. The number of customers is increasing, and many of them are repeat customers. She would like to develop her own products to expand her business. She believes it would make her business more sustainable.
