During a recent trip to Tokyo I met a series of families who were living by a river running through Tokyo. All of these homes were built from found objects and incorporated simple solar cells for energy generation.

How cost effective is this solution as compared to say a 'capsule hotel'?

Excellent structures though, kind of like junk's without the hull.....
