Posting these comments has been delayed. And also see that the construction work has been further delayed.
One main thing that I would like to emphasize is the need to send a written report to both the building owner and the community partner outlining the need for upgrading the existing buildings - repair and repaint of the church and the living quarters and securing access to the terrace. (I see from the update below that these have been discussed, but please make sure to send a formal letter in the event that these additions do not happen). The report/ letter should also outline the scope of the Nike grant and why the additional scope was not part of the construction work. In addition, the bathing area needs a door (good to see that this has been discussed) and the loft space over the toilets need to be cleaned out and boarded up for easy maintenance.
ONSITE MEETING FOR REVIEW + RESOLVING & DISCUSSING CONSTRUCTION ISSUES WITH MTU & MAGICBUS
Keshav (DF) visited the site on 1st Sep and had an onsite meeting with Rev. Thomas (from MTU) and Radha(East Delhi Head) & Avik (Delhi Head) along with contractor representative.
• Rev. Thomas had earlier raised various issues pertaining to site construction due to which construction activity has slowed down so DF and Magic Bus decided to call Mr. Thomas to understand and resolve the same.
• The following decisions were taken and we were able to get clarity on various issues.
• We asked Rev. Thomas for Permission for Building the end wall- He would give a decision on this by Tuesday, 4th Sep; we asked him to relocate some of the plant saplings which were in the middle of the ground to the sides, He assigned this task to his Gardner, who would do the same in a couple of days, so that we can dump few truckloads of dirt needed for leveling the ground. We also asked him to board few workmen (stonelayers) for a few days as its difficult for them to commute to the site.
• We got permission for shifting the grape wine which would have come in the shower area to the edge, as this was holding work earlier in this corner.
•We would be installing a sunshade over entry door of the Boys change room, as per Rev. Thomas’ request.
•He wants to raise the boundary wall up by 9” (since its not in our scope) he would be getting it done on his own. Other things on site he would be doing is raising the Main entry gate to compound as the courtyard has been raised by a foot.
•He is open to idea of contributing towards internal wall painting, and wants an estimate from us.
•He agrees with us on having a screen and door between bathroom- toilet corridor, but wants us to do this.
•He asked us not to work on Sunday as they hold prayers in existing building.

Site Visits-30 Aug 2011,
(MTU) Mission to Unreached,Ground Sec 121 Noida
From AFH, Delhi-
Keshav
From Magicbus, Delhi-
Anuj & Radha
The Mission to Unreached (MTU) ground at Sec 121 Noida was visited by AFH & Magic Bus team.It is located on the fringes of the city, which was previously a village, agricultural land.
The Plot area of the main compound is 667 Sq. yard, with Boundary wall and a built structure occupying about 20% on one side. This has Classrooms & basic toilet facilities. There was also a raised Bathing Pool in the open ground.
MTU representative, David also showed us a much bigger adjoining plot of around 1200Sq. Yard which MTU planned to acquire in future, as a Prospective ground for Gamechangers Project.
But it was collectively decided not to consider the bigger ground, as owing to construction boom & increase price of land in the area it seemed highly unlikely for MTU to buy the land. So, the main Compound, is what is available for the Project.
We then Proceeded to MTU HQ at New Ashok Nagar in East Delhi, to meet Pastor Varghese Thomas, to introduce & discuss our project. He suggested use of Front ground of the main compound.
Anuj from Magic bus also requested Mr. Thomas to share the Property Ownership Papers, before the next steps.
