We are working on the renovation of a conventionally built 1940s home with natural materials while pushing limits of permits in Contra Costa county; the development and implementation of various living systems; the process of turning 1/3 of an acre into a lush food producing and life supporting home; learning and teaching about ways to live that support a healthy lifestyle and community. We have just completed the straw/clay infill and earthen plaster of the first county approved retrofit of its kind in Contra Costa county. We are committed to using our site and projects as an education to as many people as possible, as well as site to help legalize the sustainability movement. Our current projects include three small (under 120 sq feet) earthen buildings in the back yard, as well as the permitted straw clay earth plastered retrofit.
