Rosewood Outdoor Living Room

Overviewteamupdatesworkspacecalendarfiles

The Rosewood Apartments is a multi-family housing facility operated by the Portland Non-profit Central City Concern. These apartments are occupied by extremely low-income individuals with HIV/AIDS. Since the clientele of the housing has autoimmune deficiencies, CCC is instituting a no smoking indoors policy, and we are tasked with providing a smoking shelter in addition to a general garden renovation. The goal is to create a comfortable, outdoor social space to encourage those who smoke to do so outside of their rooms, thereby improving the indoor air quality of the entire building. Additionally, we are creating a new landscape design that encourages community engagement by creating a new social space and edible garden.
