Project Summary
In order to properly transition the medical services currently offered in the Pétionville Camp into the surrounding neighborhoods, J/P HRO will relocate these health facilities into the Delmas 32 or 40B neighborhood. J/P HRO plans to renovate existing structures to accommodate the 24-hour urgent care center with x-ray machine, the women’s clinic complete with ultrasound, the 24-hour maternity care, the primary care clinic, the chronic disease clinics, the cholera isolation zone and the pharmacy. J/P HRO and AFH are working to identify existing buildings to repair and remodel in order to locate these services together in a 3,000 square foot building or two adjacent buildings, within walking distance of Pétionville camp. J/P HRO plans to relocate all medical staff and support personnel in order to provide the same level of care as was available in camp. On average, J/P HRO treats 1,900 people a week with a staff of 90.
