• Ecole Ceverine with Save the Children, outside Maissade, Artibonite. Rehabilitation and extension of a primary school for 257 students.
• Ecole La Dignité, Cayes Jacmel, Sud. Two-classroom extension for the only free private school in the Jacmel area.
• St. Louis de Gonzague chemimstry and physics building, Delmas 33, Port-au-Prince. The chemistry and physics building of the renown secondary school class required a complete structural overhaul.
• Collège Mixte Le Bon Berger Montrouis. Reconstruction of eight classrooms for a school entirely compromised by the earthquake. New construction will support 450 students.

In construction

• Ecole Baptiste Bon Berger, Pele, Port-au-Prince. Phased construction of 20 classrooms for 1100 students near Cité Soleil.
• École Elie Dubois, Champ de Mars, Port-au-Prince. Vocational school for 250 girls, under development of technical records.
• Institut Foyer du Savoir "Home of Knowledge," Delmas 75, Port-au-Prince. New construction for 400 students on a new site with sweeping views of the city.
• Haiti Partners Children's Academy, Marianman, Ouest. New primary school for 250 children designed by BAR Architects for a new generation of Haitian students.

Civic arts for schools

In partnership with Deutsche Bank and the Digicel Foundation, the Civic Arts for Schools program launched in 2011 to bring Haitian artists and their work to schoolyards around Haiti. 10 sites have been selected to receive a piece of art–artists will be selected in late 2011, with completion of work by Spring 2012.

Meetups, workshops and training

• Monthly open house - A cocktail reception is held on a monthly basis at the Rebuilding Center following selected presentations form our partners in the reconstruction effort. Contact haitivolunteer@architectureforhumanity.org for more information.
• CAD training workshops - Two-week AutoCAD training sessions for Haitian construction professionals and students. The Rebuilding Center provides laptops and AutoCAD 2009 for the sessions.
  

• Evaluations AIDG et formations en maçonnerie - Le Groupe de Développement d'Infrastructure Appropriée (AIDG a conduit une première série de formations en maçonnerie grâce à une subvention d'Architecture for Humanity. Ces formations ont permis de former 600 maçons et contribué à améliorer la qualité d'exécution des chantiers.

Construction manuals, technical reports and linguistic tools

• Rebuilding 101 Manual - A concise, 32-page graphic manual outlining principal recommendations for seismic- and hurricane-resistant concrete construction.
• "Transitional to What?" Report - This report examines 10 types of temporary shelters housing thousands of of Haitians around Port-au-Prince, Leogane, Papette and other towns. The report examines different attributes such as longevity and adaptability to permanence.
• Linguistic tools - Page redirects to dictionaries and linguistic sites useful for facilitating translations between English, Creole and French.
• Bamboo beyond words - A manual of best practice. Collaboration between Architecture for Humanity and Kleiwerks international to develop a preliminary manual, without words, on the use of bamboo for the purpose of construction.

Save the Children

Mme Joa Clinic, outside Maissade - This small rural clinic managed by Save the Children requires dramatic renovation following years of weathering.

Digicel Group

Accessible homes for Marie and Odeline, Port-au-Prince – Digicel asked Architecture for Humanity to develop handicap-accessible house designs for a couple households in Haiti's capital.

Medical Relief International (Merlin)

• Caravelle Clinic, Caravelle, Port-au-Prince – Detailed phasing and construction plan prepared for a clinic retrofit, built in 2 months. COMPLETE
• Turbe Clinic, Turbe, Port-au-Prince

Community-developed planning

• Santo Community Development Plan, near Léogâne - At the request of the Municipality of Léogâne, Habitat for Humanity and Architecture for Humanityare collaborating with a local population to create an urban infrastructural plan to establish a new population center. Local planning office SODADE facilitated the participation of the community and oversee design.
• Villa Rosa: Initial Phase - A neighborhood with a history of unplanned development faced catastrophic damage in the earthquake and requires a community-organized strategy to build back better.

J/P Haitian Relief Organization

• Tent camp improvements, Pétionville Club, Port-au-Prince - Significant improvements to increase the durability and comfort of the temporary camp home to 50,000 displaced persons.
  
• Klinik Kominote, Delmas 32 - Adaptive reuse of an existing residence into a medical clinic and model for safe reconstruction. COMPLETE
• J/P HRO Hospital Platform - The clinic was in need of a platform in the interior for sanitary purposes and to avoid water run off going through the clinic. This project was accomplished with the help of the local work force and donated materials.
• J/P 1 Urgent Care Facility - In order to properly transition the medical services currently offered in the Pétionville Camp into the surrounding neighborhoods, J/P HRO will relocate these health facilities into the Delmas 32 or 40B neighborhood. COMPLETE
• École Bethesda - An existing two-story confined masonry school requires a second-floor renovation to add a classroom and provide an earthquake-resistant and weathertight enclosure for the school (and church). PHASE 1 COMPLETE
• Kay Kominote - The repair of an existing building to house services that were previously provided by the Pétionville Camp Community Center.
  

Mapping

Haiti Rural Mapping Initiative - With a grant from the WK Kellogg Foundation, Architecture for Humanity will map 11 eleven communes across southern and central Haiti. These maps will contain basic geographic and political information which will be available as a resource for the country.

Nike

Basketball court @ Pele - With funding from a Nike Gamechangers grant, École Baptiste Bon Berger, Pele will incorporate a basket ball court into this tight urban context on the outskirts of Cite Soleil.
