Project Description:
Function
The main function of the product is to save gaps "architectural." To achieve this mission, the chair features two innovations compared to conventional chairs. The front wheels and rear wheels are attached via a transmission system. This allows the time the wheel or wheels in front (which are larger in diameter than conventional) come into contact with the obstacle, they will do with the pulling force provided by the user. You front wheels can move with respect to the orbital path back, so the system can be adapted at the time of contact with the gap. This is limited by a separate buffer for each package of wheels (left and right). Such a system would facilitate the mobility of the user in cases where the architecture is an impediment.
Inspiration
Currently, despite the attempts of the technology to solve problems of people with reduced mobility, there are still obstacles to the daily life of these. In a functional study, which was to make life in a wheelchair, were detected two units of action (among countless other problems) which became the main objective of this project: Changing the perception that people have toward this object (wheelchair) and solve the various obstacles such attack "minibordillo" bump, bugs building ramps, etc.. You can say that the true inspiration of the project is nothing more than to emphasize the small details that for many can become major obstacles.
Development
Different studies were conducted: - From user - Anthropometric / Biomechanical - Functional needed a device that will give us additional forces climbing, versatility in the structure that is fully integrated into the chair. After analyzing the problem it was decided by the most extreme option : Do not create a device to fit the chair, but will rip the chair, and that device would become. - dematerialized the most of the wheels incorporate wheels without spokes that gave us the structure i versatility in design freedom. - Traction wheels: That will give us additional forces climbing. - incorporate a cushioning system that provides the accommodation necessary to stabilize the system. The result of all this was a compact, versatile and functional, without any doubt away from the concept currently has a wheelchair, at least as far as is concerned.
