Project Description: (Please enter about 3 paragraphs or 500 words, whichever is less)
Built almost entirely from bamboo, the Green School was founded in Bali by the sustainable designers, John and Cynthia Hardy, to combine learning about environmental issues with a conventional educational syllabus. The school's objective is to have the lowest carbon footprint of any school worldwide, through the use of bamboo and rammed earth for its buildings, growing its own food in its gardens, and plans to generate its own power from the river.
The architects have also set up a foundation that gives bamboo seedlings to local rice farmers, thereby
helping them to supplement their incomes.
