Gori Foundation Clinic

When the Angelo Gori Foundation first approached us with this project, we had just returned from a site visit in Niger and had witnessed first hand the struggle that the Nigerien people face.

Our design brief was for a small clinic plus dispensary in Niamey, the capital of Niger. The Gori Foundation, a charitable organization based in Arezzo, generously agreed to fund the construction and maintenance. Management of the facility would come from a local group of Italian missionaries.

This simple structure is in keeping with local construction techniques and materials is designed to endure the extreme climate of Western Africa while providing a much-needed service. In completing this project, we were grateful for the reminder that even the most humble of designs can be the most valuable.
