The intention of this proposal is to develop the sports center idea, by integrating this function with a wide group of facilities that would form a true community center - a public, enclosed forum or public park, that provides an abundant space and that holds the structures for numerous activities devoted to the people who inhabits this debilitated suburban area. The design consists of a densely constructed volume, that defines a regular urban limit, bringing the notion of order to this somewhat chaotic constructed site. This effect is achieved by recognizing the existing volumetric diversity in the urban form and by creating intense multiplicity in spatial relations inside the volume. It's adjacent spaces, diverse in shape and expression, form a continuous interactive experience, meant to promote informal and spontaneous uses, as well as facilitating exchanges of information and community contact. Though the building is entirely accessible once inside, the layout is divided into functional groups, such as: a group of areas for the communal activities (connected to events and education), another for the sports and health structures and another for a day care facility. All spaces adjoin each other directly, and those to the city - the multiplicity arising from these relationships between the zones permits an immediate variety of access and movement within the building.
