Re-Landscape

The main strategy of the project is based on the use of recycled materials to create a public open landscape-park especially designed for sports activities.
Used tires are used to form and shape the new artificial landscape. New Topography, seating areas, lawn mounds and planters are integrated and will form the new topography of the site. The open character of the sport complex will encourage participation and sense of community. Old tires glass bottles and cans are also used to build functional volumes linked by a light bamboo canopy. The shaded area provided by the canopy will facilitate circulation and outdoor seating for the café. The south east corner is chosen to be main entrance due to the main road vicinity. The series of volumes separates sport activities from the traffic road. Soccer and practice pitches are surrounded by “hills of tires” suggesting a holistic approach between garden, spectators and event. Potentially the western and northern edges, facing existing housing, could be used as series of planters to cultivate vegetables. Finishing of the outdoor paving will be colored concrete while interiors will be finished with aluminum cans and recycled broken ceramics tiles. A solar panel will be added to every volume in order to provide electricity to the entire complex.
