Mixed Reality COLLAB

Overviewteamupdatesworkspacecalendarfiles

This project's focus is to integrate various innovative web and mixed reality technologies into the Architecture For Humanity's San Francisco office to help them spread the message on their projects, competitions, and tenants in the COLLAB.

Future projects for 2011:
- Create a 3D BIM model of the COLLAB
- Augmented reality application

Current tech includes:
Real World Office:
*QR markers (barcodes) are placed throughout the office that when scanned with any QR reader (available for mobile devices, iPhones, etc.) automatically pulls up the website for that project or tenant.

Digital World:
*Interactive 3D web recreation of the office (still under development)

*AFH Globe - a digital globe developed on 3D web open standards that houses 3D models of OAN projects in their geographical location. To further support "open", the globe uses Open Street Map (www.openstreetmap.org) data for the terrain imagery.
