Firstly we change the dimension of learning space. We remove two walls of the class and make a flexible class area. The classroom becomes larger. It locates towards the south so we use a trombe wall at south elevation that provides energy efficiency trombe wall’s double-partition provides us flexibility and variety of benefits.
The wall which we designed has many functions such as trombe wall, amphitheatre, and closets for teacher and students and sitting places. Also it has a window to take natural light and fresh air. t provides connection between interior and exterior. We aim to take natural light. Artificial full-spectrum lighting has been found to minimize mental fatigue as well as reduce hyperactivity in children.
Because learning space needs meeting and conference area we create movable settings as amphitheatre not only for students but also for parents. Movable settings can be put into trombe wall when out of usage. We aimed to use maximum area. We emphasize that to success, the availability of resources by students is important. So we design child centered furniture with dimensions and patterns. We use friendly, "home-like" elements and materials in the design of the class at all scales when appropriate and possible. Our design allows to children to be in small groups often called "families" to make activities.
Our aim is to encourage the active participation of students. Pathways increase opportunities for positive social interaction. Each of the small group areas can be further divided into individual activity areas to allow for quiet, individualized self-directed learning.
