This place is located on Cerro Placeres, Valparaiso, Chile
Jorge Williams School, At the beginnig this school was a SENAME home
( a home for the children in social risk), but because the community needs, this home becomes a school, who’s owner is the YMCA since june 1995.
It has 195 children in primary school, and 45 in kindergarden.
A 97% of its students are in social risk, that means they can be very vulnerable to physical and psychological damage.
Boys and girls with a poor economic situation are more propense to a bad education process.
They are victims of abandonment.
They have problems with the law.

There’s no support and relations with the community nor with the school.
Little spaces for the children.
No personal development of the students.

PROPOSAL
An Art Room, this proposal is all about integration, and for the development of the students, to find a way to expand their minds and knowledge and to give something back to the community.
Give what back to the community?
The desing of this new room was made with interior programs and exterior programs, where both can connect between the use and interaction of students, their familys or people from the sorroundings.
What are those programs?. They are mainly about artistics methods of personal development like theatre or music, where they can rehearsal any time they want. The stage can be use for any kind of artistic expression, by the students or by the neighborhood.
