The proposed design:
…inspired by the soccer ball!
The basic shapes of a football ball are the hexagon and pentagon. In the proposal, the hexagon has informed the planning of most of the main structures on site.
…inspired by the African village!
The most notable characteristic of an African village is the clustering of the individual huts into a homestead. The same spirit is achieved by clustering the individual hexagonal units into a “homestead” This gives a sense of collective identity amongst the users, who are primarily Africans!!
Building technology:-
The design seeks to incorporate the needs of the community and to employ sustainable and/or local building materials and construction methods to realize their design.
