San José, as most of Latin American cities, faces the problem of a growing social and physical fragmentation. This project pretends to act possitively over one of these communities, Roncón Grande de Pavas, which is the poorest and most dense zone of the metropolitan area. Some of its priorities are the places for gathering, the use of local materials and an architectural language which seems familiar to those in the area. It looks foreward to an integration of environmental, cultural and social strategies in order to reach an adequate development. All this having musical education as the main activity, recognizing its potential for human growth, both individually and collectively.
