Fertilizing strategy for Bovisa University Campus.
The Urbica project enters in this two specific urban context aiming revitilize the connecting spaces and communication between parts of the Bovisa University Campus area. The fertilizing strategy have the aim of free the soil from the asphalt with depaving and sheet mulching. The main action is to create muck for the soil, but also improve different uses of the public and private space. It is also the creation of a sustainable landscape that can grow and modify bringing new functions for the area.
The architectural elements are a sort of hybrid machine that record environmental change with a self-sufficient collaboration between nature and artificial structure that allows the growth of vegetation and the germinative process.

In nature where there’s lack of biodiversity, the answer is infectant to reachieve a balance of the parts. The combination between the remaining green fertilizes with sterile zones, gives life to a germinative process that leads to the fertilization of zones of restoration not yet integrated with the existent urban texture.
The marginal green areas are called “fertility bags” because they are green residues that allows the activation of process of environmental improvement. The “sterile zones” are portions of the city that are recently created and not completely solved in morphology and connections. These sterile zones present a rigid environmental conditions that don’t allow flexibility of the public space.
