This project was done as part of a Master's of Architecture degree program. The project requirement was to create a building that was to be a university building for study abroad students to live in and learn about sustainable practices in the host location. The site is located outside of Baeza, Ecuador, in the Andes Mountains. In the spirit of regenerative sustainable design, the facility was designed to be part of a reforestation program for the valley. The building is nomadic, and therefore made of prefabricated pieces that are easily constructed, deconstructed, and reconstructed on a new site. The design takes into account the thermal and climatic needs of the inhabitants, as well as needs for flexibility, views, and lightweight construction for ease of movement.
