Looks interesting. We did a project designing an ecolodge in NW Zambia, which was very interesting. (not uploaded yet though) Cannot stress enough to really listen to the needs of the locals and be inspired by the forms and material that are there. To build it, if its gonna be sustainable, you need to be able to find the materials locally. Aswell I can just say that building straight lines as it appears on the sketches are not commonly used there, or am I wrong? And not such an easy thing to do, 90 degrees I am if you're not used to it. As a landscape architect I also hope that you really listen to the landscape, aestethically and functionally, and look beyond the building, many buildings in Africa blend into the nature beautifully. Erik, The clinic project is going very slow. The sponsoring organizationis getting organized and we've realigned our efforts to a school project in Tanzania. We are expecting a late summer start on construction of the school. It will be in a more developed area not as remote as the Ubwari Clinic. I appreciate your post and advice.
