Entry for the "Design it: shelted competition", sponsored by the Guggenheim Museum & Google Sketchup.
designed by alexander niño ruiz
From: Grosuplje, Slovenia
Shelter location: Bogota´s bike paths network, sidewalks, streets and public parks

18,000 families of recyclers collect almost one tenth of the daily waste produced in Bogotá, paradoxically many of them are sheltered by the very waste they collect. Four barril-shaped boxes in corrugated metal solves the equation of serving as a waste container and a easy-to-pull diclycle for them to work and move. Boxes expand rendering a shelter coated in refletive paint to become a visible part of the urban scape.
