Siyathemba Community Interface:
Focused in a concept of community equipment with a strong will to activate, generate, produce, express, interact… our design proposes emphasized interactivity between the different events, more than just a constructed intervention.
Starting from scratch we have a football field; then a line in the landscape directed straight on one axis, that establishes a formal and visual dialogue with the game rectangle.
The axis is purposed as an open system, informal and extrovert, which is materialized in two small buildings and in one light structure. The first building is multifunctional space that expands or contracts according to different necessities; it could be a handcraft workshop; a meeting/conference space or just a resting area. The second one is compact, and functionally strictly defined. Join together in the interior all the basic equipment and supporting program – shower and changing room, storage, water reservoir and solar panels. This concentration helps to limit the security perimeter.
Embracing these two bodies there is a light structure that extends the axis. Above its shadow it’s possible to watch a football match, do business or even flirt…An expectant space which lives of the dynamics of the community and the imagination of its users.
