As you all know, we do not have much of a budget to spend for the garden. Therefore, wherever we can save money, we will.
One of the areas we can some some major dough is the raised planter beds.

One alternative to traditional raised bed material that I came across is the use of shipping pallets and linoleum flooring or some sort of water-proof membrane that would otherwise be thrown away after use/removal from construction sites.

The shipping pallets would be used for walkways and these walkways would create pockets that would be used as sunken planters. These sunken planters would then be contoured with linoleum sheets and the shipping pallets would act as retaining walls.

Your job is to help find these materials - for free!
Shipping pallets are always dumped behind grocery stores. The linoleum sheets are a little harder to find but if we can track down a contractor that removes flooring for a living, we would probably score a ton of free material for our purpose.

Thank you team!
Let's get this garden going!!!
