Second Year Design Studio run by the University of Auckland School of Architecture; this design studio explored various alternatives of social housing in New Zealand. This project places 64 x 2 Bedroom units overlooking the local reserve with emphasis on sustainability; openness and privacy within the apartment; taking advantage of the unique site to create transparency, transition and interlocking.This project demonstrates that the future of social housing need not remove value from its surroundings and leaves opportunity for future growth.
