once the PLASTIKI arrives in australia its next step is to serve as disaster relief housing in flood zones. currently, solutions for disaster relief housing exist on land, therefore the PLASTIKI will become shelter for those effected by hurricanes and floods. the advantage of this cabin is that it can easily be taken off the catamaran and placed onto a zodiac or other type of flotation device and can also be transported easily from one site to another. the cabin may even be used as a transportation device that can take victims to and from disaster zones to medical centers during medical emergencies. once the cabin becomes occupied, changes can be made with its skin and the addition of sustainable materials. wind turbines will become an additional source of energy along with wave powered energy systems. also, sky-sails can be added to speed up the zodiac and evacuated vacuum tubing will introduce hot water onto this flotation device. , see-through solar panels can then replace the windows in the future as well to collect energy. furthermore, the lifesaver water bottle can provide purified water from any source of water therefore it becomes a great source for water in disaster zones.
