It is with absolute great pleasure to inform you that the process is moving forward. I arrived at the beginning of April in this vibrant city of Nairobi where colour on everything is a must. Every matatu(commuter taxis), double-M(buses), bodaboda(motorbikes) is covered in rainbow colours. The people are great, friendly, smiling and the food is spectacular.
I was able to meet with the MYSA team and what great spirit they have. This is clearly evident in the numerous activities they run at the various centres. Every individual you talk to at the centre is happy and is looking forward to growing further with the organisation. This is an organisation that is known by almost every Kenyan around town.
We were able to agree on where the Football For Hope (FFH) centre, will be located and exactly where on the site the centre will be placed. It is a very exiciting proposal and you should browse through the pics to have a look at the proposed location of the centre.
We also did select the design architect, whose design will be developed further to suit the site conditions and MYSA's needs.
The local architects that will partner on this project were also selected.
During next month, the schematic design process will be started and the final list of all parties to be involved in this project will completed i.e the Quantity surveyor, Structural Engineer, local contractor for the Greenfields pitch.
Looking forward to an exciting month of May and you should too.

Based upon budget constraints, locally available materials, practicality and expected maintainance by the user group, the design was required to be substantially modified. The architect/engineer who was initially involved in the project expressed inability to construct the project which led to the hiring of the present engineering firm of Alpha Associates. The "bhoomi puja" i.e. the ground breaking ceremony is scheduled for August 12, 2007. The construction is anticipated to be completed within 10 weeks thereafter.
