Yamadai Utsumi Suisan (ヤマダイ内海水産)

Overviewteamupdatesworkspacecalendarfiles
Building Occupancy / Site Capacity:
10

Yamadai-Utsumi Suisan was started by an individual making and distributing processed seafood products to company cafeterias. It grew and was established as a company in Ishinomaki in 1988, and has since expanded its business to schools (for school lunches), as well as restaurants to become a staple in the community.

In the tsunami, the owners lost their factory and home. Fortunately all family members had evacuated to the second floor of the house, but the first floor was inundated, and the factory was completely destroyed, as were the machinery and other equipment.

They have been struggling to get back on their feet since the disaster, but have been moving forward in their efforts, with the consultation of MakiBiz. For the time being, they have been working in a temporary factory, but with limited resources. They are working to get back on their feet by rebuilding their factory as soon as possible, with the encouragement of their loyal customers.
