The scheme is organized in a linear bar located to the Northeast of the site. The entrance fronts the street and provides security with a rammed earth wall. The building incorporates local materials such as corrugated metal roofing, bamboo and stabilized rammed earth. Soil would be used on site to construct the walls of rammed earth in which could involve community participation with some assistance. The roof provides sun shading and attempts to create a layered façade in which the corrugated metal is pulled down and meets rammed earth benches. The façade also incorporates a bamboo louver system that allows fresh air into the building. The northern wall of the building is naturally lit by continous skylights. The daycare center was extruded from the massing of the building and has its own entrance to separate the children from the adults. The entry sequence takes you through the internet café to a single loaded corridor which serves as an informal library that provides seating and phone access. Outdoors the amphitheater serves as a figural element juxtaposed with the linear scheme. The soccer field is located to the west of the site to provide easy access from the daycare. This scheme attempts to creatively use the surrounding context and materials to create an aesthetic for the community to take pride in.
