Maloca chocolate 1264

Strategy

· We proposed a contemporary image of the indigenes house to face the world market demands.

· More than a factory: it is a cultural center interconnecting the region with pedestrian path, bicycles roads and a permanent bus “the chocolate bus”.

· The social architect: is a professional than works close with the community. Teaching the techniques of the bamboo or a construction material from the surrounding.

Sustainable site

3 new forests as a public space:

· Patrimony forest: we reserve this area for a forest make of native nature of Amazon, than in another hand will be prevent the mountain erosion and will create a natural corridor between the building and the main road.

· Bamboo forest: this area will be cultivate with bamboos and palm trees so we try to recover in 5 years the materials of the construction, and in 8 years to have material potential extension of the complex.

· Especial plants forest: located in the potential areas where the river flouts.

The building

· The construction material are: Roof: palm or reeds, structure: bamboo and wood, and foundation: stone and concrete.

· The construction system is a traditional way to building indigenes house in to an industrial scale.

· The chocolate factory and administration and visitor center can be easy divide in two separate building.

· The Plaza is organizing our building and its typology will help to collect the community around it.

· The building is total accessible for handicap

Water and energy

· The building works as a big umbrella than collect rainwater for irrigation into a tank, and holds a solar system panels for electric energy.

· Windows will be located on top of the building and will be regulated by handcraft and fabrics.

· The palm or reed roof works as a skin. This lets the air go through the space.

· The storage room is to collect recyclable material and select organic material for the compost.
