Red Cross which represents the international humanism is adopted as out design concept.
Transfer this sign to real materials and functional space. We separated the basic areas with the stone made crossing walls which also contain pipes for delivering heat, water, and electricity to each end of the building.
The main structure is simple but significant for its unique exterior. We also preserve the possibilities for the future expanding to ensure the whole structure and shape can be maintained.
Higher ground level is designed to avoid the humid in mountains at night effecting the habitants and damaging the equipments. This design can also make air floating easily and get rid of flood after the heavy rain during summer. on the other word, this medicine center can fulfill its functions without affecting the nature cycle.
Regarding to the roof, we also suggest two different options: slopping and flat. the inclined one is more activated and the flat one tends to be more stable on the image wise. However, both styles are capable of setting the solar power boards and water collection.
Construction Materials
Regard to the budget and sustainability, this project will use the domestic produced woods and stone in Nepal. The main walls will be constructed with stones, concrete, and steels enclosed the pipes for heat, water, and electricity by the specific skills for reinforced loadbearing wall.
Woods will be used to make the other structures such as roof, pillars, and beams. The traditional constructing skills and carpenters will be inducted into this work.
In this project, we chose different materials to claim the images of reliable and friendly. We can sense the stable and heavy from the stone wall; warm and plain from the woods. We wish people to experience the temperature and history through living in this building and therefore to obtain a balance between seasonal nature and artificial nursing space.
