Final Touch
Ceverine
This imposing statue issued a lot of controversies among the community of Ceverine. Inhabitants of Haiti's country sides are not used to Civic Arts that are not related to this country's history, and beside they no antecedent of statue in this area. So, we did a first post workshop with the school comity.

Collège Classique
Living in a "niche", that casted resin high relief is amazing. The school-children will be thrilled when they'll be back to school. The parallelepiped hollow spot in the wall, where that art piece resides, is painted with a magnificent sky. Shiler St Eloi, the creator behind that master piece, also has ENARTS for alta matter. Four bolts are holding it against the wall, along with enough epoxy. there is a plaque missing that Shiler needs to put. We called him on monday september 17 th , and he still didn't put it yet.
Director Mr. Léonel Ottil
-.Make shiler put up the final plaque.
Portail Leogane
The pump was working fine, during the several tests, trajectory analysis and on site. Then the day we were supposed to finalize, the pump stopped working. So, we brought it back to the office, and after diagnostic, we inferred that the solar panel cannot, for some unknown reason, supply 12 volts the pump any more. The pump can work on a 12 volts car battery. One solution came up, that is to put in two solar panels, the one we have and an other one setup in parallel.
Director Mr. Calixte
Artiste Josue Blanchard, also a contact; +509 38990028; +509 32815489

Civic Art in School, Haiti
Installation Completion
Architecture for Humanity have been implementing the Civic Arts program in to the hearts and minds of Artists, School Director, Construction-Workers and especially School Children. AFH have been exploring, understanding, learning and appreciating the universe of Haitian Art. Nine schools, for the first round, have the statement of that program except on. Pélé have been experiencing insecurity for about 22 days. Beside that work , down there, have been in slow motion the Director of the school, Chedrick Canéus, and Project Lead has discourage us from going down there and even install the piece. It's running the risk of being vandalized.
Now that the situation got better we are planning to check out the site tomorrow, in order to prepare for implementation.
It'll take three days to finish the installation at Pele.
The school List in chronological order of achievement.
1.Ecole Mére Louise
Cladded on a stone retaining wall, it's considered as a particular high relief. This creation makes the school-children think of family members. Denis Petit is a well known black-smith artist, who inherited from his famous grand father Georges Liautaud. Unique of its kind, his specialty is to put up sculptures that looks like cut outs form big old thick sheets of iron. But in reality, the materials are old cast-iron pieces of sugar factory or any ancient facility. The installation was pretty straightforward, it was as simple as these figures innocent silhouette. Rods made from a corrugated steel are attaching it to the stone wall.

2.Bon Berger Montruis
A classic free standing sculpture, definitely academic, it's called "L'Enfant Prodigue" the Prodigal Child. Lunda Alexis, the author, studied at ENARTS "Ecole Nationale des Arts" National school of Arts. Her primary material is fiber glass.

3.Collège Classique
Living in a "niche", that casted resin high relief is amazing. The school-children will be thrilled when they'll be back to school. The parallelepiped hollow spot in the wall, where that art piece resides, is painted with a magnificent sky. Shiler St Eloi, the creator behind that master piece, also has ENARTS for alta matter. Four bolts are holding it against the wall, along with enough epoxy.

4.Ceverine school
Huge, is that metal sculpture. We barely carried up to Ceverine, Haiti's Central Plateau. This imposing statue issued a lot of controversies among the community of Ceverine. Inhabitants of Haiti's country sides are not used to Civic Arts that are not related to this country's history, and beside they no antecedent of statue in this area. This problem occurred because no workshop took place there prior to fabrication, like it happened for every single school involved in Civic Art. Lionel St Eloi is a venerated Master in the recovered metal art. He as a preference for aluminum. His work is recognizable by their shiny aspect. So, people though that this monument was a creature from out of space, they were ready to worship it. This statue have a colossal work behind it. A superb realization, with lots of detailing to admire. After a month or less living in Ceverine, this statue's presence still needs to be justified. We did a post workshop with the school comity. Lionel and his guitar was there with us to reassure the armless nature of the statue, and explain its meaning. Entitled "La Lauréate" The Laureate this sculpture is here to encourage the school-children to spend more time with books. "No matter what, The Laureate withstands the elements studying." says Lionel.
5.Ecole immaculée Conception-Canaan
The tallest of them all, this assembly of oil container is the work of Racine Polycarpe. Native of the " Atis Rezistans " this Artist of Recovery Art his obsessed with cylinders from evaporated milk cans to big oil drums. Six of them, all linked together by metallic frame system, constitutes the essential of this piece. It is living in that school, standing on two pedestals and solidly braced to the ground. These drums are perforated in a way that depicts little kids or creatures going to school and other cultural things.
6.Académie Timoun Haiti Partner
From Noaille Village, Jacques Eugène as seduced us with peasant woman taking her child to school. A marvelous work of art made out of steel sheet and other elements like marble balls for eyes and bicycle chain for hairs. This lovely piece was not installed at school because the site was not ready to accommodate it yet. So, it was delivered at the School Director's house.

7.Elie Dubois
Massive and bright, this rond boss was carved out from humongous stone seating in the "Rivière Grise"'s bed. Jean Almétone Frémont works stone just like a wood sculptor would. His patient for that kind of craft is extreme. That relatively white statue seats in Elie Dubois courtyard waiting for embellishment, landscaping around it.
8.Ecole communale de Portail Léogane
Pretty looking girl watering a flower pot. Josué blanchard used to go to ENARTS. He specialized himself in fountains First Art work to have an electric and plumbing plan. These mechanical parts make the difficulties in that project. Sustainability was at the rendezvous when we integrated a solar pump in the pedestal design. The pump was working fine, during the several tests, trajectory analysis in the office and on site. Then, the day we were supposed to finalize, the pump stopped working. So, we brought it back to the office, and after diagnostic, we inferred that the solar panel cannot, for some unknown reason, supply 12 volts the pump any more. The pump can work on a 12 volts car battery. One solution came up, that is to put in two solar panels, the one we have and an other one. For now, this fiber glass statue stands at the school on an sophisticated pedestal until we figure out something.

9.Bon Berger Pélé
All Green that piece, which was previously black, is a tour of tires. Celeur Jean Hérard member of the " Atis Rezistans " movement as several styles and works with a variety of other recycled materials. This flexible, like a reed, sculpture looks resistant and elastic. "It is a massage for kipping the natural environment clean" says Celeur.

Fortunately the situation could brighten next week by tuesday 4 or wednesday 5 of august.
The statue is installed but not the solar pump. We need to figure out what's wrong with it. It stopped working in its install day.

Also happening this same week, the Portail Léogane school installation. We could not buy materials today because today is an holiday. Assumption.
The art piece was brought on to site and installed today. Twelve people lifted it up at the artist workshop and on Elie's site.
As I'm writing this, the plateforme for the art piece at Elie is being built. It's a sculpture on stone created by Jean Almétone Frémont.

This week, we have installed the art piece. It's a 2.74m wide by 4.15m tall assembly of barrels.
Four art pieces are installed now : Mère Louise, Montruis, Ceverine, and at last Collège Classique. We have reestablish with the staff administration of this last school. They have lost their two pioneers. Maitre André Jean, around 80 years old, was our point of contact. After is death we lost connection with the school for 2 weeks. We've visite the school while students were undergoing national exams. Thats how we've reestablish contact through a new Director.
So, 4 art pieces installed.
Today we are proud to announce the fist installation of the Civic Arts in Schools Project. The piece is by Denis Petit and was installed today at Ecole Mere Louise, a Fondation Digicel school.
pictures to come....
Despite the delay in first payment, Artist Frémont will start excavating a piece of stone out from the "Rivière Grise" quarry.
He has invite us to film hem working thursday March 15th. But, we'll go later then that . Now he's doing site mobilisation.
We are starting the project!
Réginald Girault, "portraitiste", sculptor, "dessinateur", had a nice interview with us, yesterday.

1 Ecole Mère Louise
This schools is for the congregation of the Sisters of St Joseph of Cluny. It's cohabiting with an other school, Centre Rosalie Javouhey. Mère Louise School was founded in 1864. This primary school has 400 school girls, approximately.
Recreation court is tiny. Not much space for sculpture.
2 Immaculée Conception Canaan
This school was hard to find. Its in the middle of no where. A place where a population in tents are starting an informal village. The facility is on the top of a hill. It's aspect is very dry. 4 buildings constitues the school : 2 classroom buildings, 1 "sanitaire bloc", 1 opened air gathering room.
We've met with the schoolchildren , Sister Régina Michel and some teachers. The program was explained. They'r expecting us on Friday 9th of March 2012 for a workshop.
3 Externat la providence
That school was before downtown. Digicel gave them container to arbor there classrooms , laboratory, library etc., while they are waiting for the campus to be built back.
Sister Colette explained to us that she did not want a sculpture on that provisional campus, but in the new definitive one. It makes perfect sens.

Interesting visit today . We were there on time , Shiler and I — ten o' clock sharp— to meet Maitre Jean the principal, so hard to convince to accept that art project into his school. He was introduced to Shiler who, by the way, looked familiar to him, —but he remembered that Celeur was supposed to work with the kids, I had to explain to him that this artist was assigned to an other school. Seriously, Shiler had one of his brothers going to school there. So, a long conversation took place between the two gentlemen, M. Jean and Shiler. They've talked about the space where the Art piece should go. Its that rectangular , landscape orientation, niche in the wall.
"Maitre Jean" was reluctant to let us make a workshop with the students. He was afraid that we and up with pornographic drawings. At a third attempt we've finally convinced him to pick a class for us to work. We worked with the students of "seconde" , a briefing of what citizenship is about was made—"Maitre Jean" introduced us and asked : "who has drawing skills?". Only one student lift his hand.—we almost got out of the classroom without nothing. We had to insist to get something. We manage to get anything from them on a piece of paper : texts ,drawings, speeches.
14 Fev 2012
It has been an awesome visit this morning. Trip well done with the: time frame, tools and resources available. We did'nt have time to do a proper workshop, but the school children can still send us (celeur and I) drawings.
This visit was plan to be done a week ago. Unfortunately Celeur got himself in to a bottle fight. He was badly injured in the head and his right arm. Today he was wearing a bonnet to camouflage stitches points. His arm had stitches also.
After Celeur was introduced to the audience—the two united classes of 9th fondamental year—we have refreshed the memory of over 40 students about what is citizenship.
Evens has done a wonderful workshop at Home of Knowledge this morning. After a long conversation with Dorsinville; about the obstacles that are delaying the delivery of the school - Mr. Dorsinville and us had talked about the art project. He gave his idea about what the Artwork should look like. He wants a water cascade and pelicans… bla bla bla???.
Evens has really good skills on running workshops. He used to make drawings classes for children and handicap.
Three classes were involved in that shop : The kindergarden, the third and fourth fundamental years. the two last ones are in the same classroom.
To the kindergarden children, Evens asked them to draw their family members. He did an introduction in proportions with the kids, before that exercise. Proportion.Good feed back we have had from these kids.
In the next classes, a combination of the third and fourth fundamental years, the approach was different. A conversation about profession started. "your parents, do they ever have suggested to you to be an artist, "he said" he said…
Went to visit College Mixte le Bon Berger in Montrious today with Civic Artist winner Lunda Alexis. Lunda spoke to a large class of children ranging 12 to 18 years old. Classes like the one we visited today are divided by subject and not by age group. Children of varying ages studying subjects together. Our meeting with the students did not go well. The students were unwilling to participate in the workshop Lunda had prepared. When asked what they envisioned for the school's future art piece, they had nothing to contribute.
Disappointed, we continued our conversation with the Principle, Wilson D’Or about possible designs for the new fiberglass sculpture. Lunda brought several sketches which we reviewed and discussed. We talked a lot about the name of the school, trying to understand why Wilson D’Or would want Bon Berger as a part of the art piece.
"Bon Berger offered everything to his people even when he had nothing." The Principle explained to us. "Just like me, when I started this school. I had nothing. When people in the community walk by this here, they can see Bon Berger in it."
Just when Lunda,Wilson D’Or, a teacher, and myself are ready to wrap up discussions about the design, 6 boys from the school walk up to speak with us. With this smaller group, we realize that the students are more vocal. Lunda is able to carry on a conversation with them. We give the boys ages 14-18 a pen and paper for them to collectively write down their vision for the sculpture, 10 minutes, and a classroom inside the new school. When they return to us, they hand us a paper with a report written in English describing the fraternity that they share with one another.
The visit today even though it started out a bit rocky, ended up being a success. Lunda is now ready to bring her creative process into the construction phase.

The winning artists convened at the AFH office to congratulate the winners and to discuss the project.
The artists will submit their plans for the workshops in the next 2 days.We discussed the process of the workshops and the need to understand the specific environment for the installations. Once the artists have met with the communities they will have a brief period for finalizing their concepts. The art panel will approve the final plans including schedules and budgets, and the artists will then have from 4-6 weeks to complete the fabrication.
The artists talked about the meaning of public art, and we looked at some familiar examples of civic art and the artists measured themselves against the likes of Rodin, Michelangelo and Calder. Everyone is really excited about the selections and all are eager to get to work.
We at AFH are incredibly proud of the artists that have been selected as they represent and extraordinary pool of talent.
January 17 2012

The artists has proposed some ideas that are too easy.

First proposal from Josué Blanchard.
"Why does an sculpture about kids as to be a kid ? "
Anyway, he as been picked because Mr Calixte, the Portail Léoguane School Principal, said so and the Panel said that it communicates better with the children compared to the other proposals.
He has been asked to conceptualize more.

Girl watering flowers that as the shape Haiti.
And that's his response, by adding a mechanical feature in the sculpture. A water pump.
Lionel St Eloi is obssesed with loudspeakers.
Title : La Petite lauréate / the little laureate
"Twice a week the school director should have a speech about citizenship."

Lunda Alexis's proposal

Mathieu Marcellus

That painting is a background to a future vegetable garden. This garden is a gift of the City Hall of Portail Léogane.
Invited:
Mathieu Marcelus [MM] / painting, fresco / acrylic, water-based paint, oil paint, spray paint.
Yves Darius [YD] / sculpture / iron.
Celeur Jean Herard & Timoun Rezistans [CJH] & [TR] /sculpture / wood, recovered metal & other matter. / sculpture / recovered matter.
Racine Polycarpe [RP] / sculpture / wood, recovered metal.
Attendees:
[MM], [YD].
Not bad, was the tour . [MM] and [YD] assessed an unrecognisable site compared to what is on the plan, and renders. They have used their imagination to project them self in to the future where the buildings are finished. It was a good mental exercise down there at Bon Berger, Pele. The possible locations for arts has been explained as usual.
[CJH] & [TR] were missing. The Ghetto Biennale festival is keeping them busy. They can't handle several activities at a time. They had their chance. Even though they've missed visits, we are still waiting for their proposals.
They have until January 4 2012 to submit proposals that includes : Material, size, cost to fabricate, time to fabricate, scheme for workshops.
Invited:
Pierre Denis Petit [PDP] / sculpture / metal.
Suggested to propose there:
Lunda Alexis [LA] / painting | sculpture / acrylic | fibreglass.
From previous visits:
Shiller St Eloi [SS] / painting | sculpture / acrylic, etc… | metal, recovered matter
Lionel St Eloi [LS] / painting / sculpture / acrylic, etc… | metal, recovered matter
Attendees:
[PDP], [LA].
All went absolutely well. A quick tour guide on site inspired our two artists. They haven't choose a specific point yet. The possible locations for art work are clearly identified.
They have until January 4 2012 to submit proposals that includes : Material, size, cost to fabricate, time to fabricate, scheme for workshops.
Invited:
Lunda Alexis [LA] / painting | sculpture / acrylic | fibreglass.
Mikerson Jean [MJ] / sculpture / iron.
Evens Arcelin [ EA] / painting | sculpture / acrylic and other | iron.
Stevens Simeon [SS] / sculpture / iron.
Thomas Charles [TC] / sculpture / iron.
Not invited but was brought there:
Pierre Denis Petit [PDP] / sculpture / metal.
Attendees:
[LA], [PDP].
According to the ratio between invited and attendees this visit is disappointing. Only [LA] came, but luckily we've had [PDP] as an additional Artist. The absents weren't reachable by phone, except for [EA]. He had to take is son to the hospital this morning. A render and a site plan was necessary to help them understand the orientation, because only the column steel were sticking up.
They have until January 4 2012 to submit proposals that includes : Material, size, cost to fabricate, time to fabricate, scheme for workshops.
Visit at Children's Academy on Wednesday Dec. 14th 2011
Invited:
Jean Almétor Fremont [JAF] / sculpture/ stone.
Evens Arcelin [EA] / painting | sculpture / acrylic and other | iron.
David Charlier[DC] / painting | sculpture / acrylic and other | iron, wood.
Not invited, but picked and proposed:
Lunda Alexis [LA] / painting | sculpture / acrylic | fibreglass
Attendees:
[JAF], [EA].
Successful was the visit of this morning with [JAF] and [EA]. [DC] was suppose to come, but he got caught in his business. Eventually he called me and showed enough interest for this project.
The site plan was brought with us, thus the orientation was easier. Next to the Fig tree, appears to be the best spot, from everyones point of vie, for a sculpture. That big tree is the site's best landmark and best inspiring element, the genie of this site. The site is pretty far away and the road is in pretty bad shape. Those are the biggest concern for the artists. Are they going to work on site or at there workshops? That's a question for them to answer.
They have until January 4 2012 to submit proposals that includes : Material, size, cost to fabricate, time to fabricate, scheme for workshops.

We visited the Digicel Foundation School College Classique d'Haiti this afternoon to see the site of the beautiful new school, and to meet the Director Alain Gaultier, and renowned educator Maitre Andre Jean, principal of the school.
Celeur Jean Herard, the artist, joined Maitre Andre Jean in a profound discussion about the nature of the formation of artists and the impact of making art on youth. Maitre Jean was determined to have a series of workshops with interested students led by the artist. We all agreed that it was important that the work of art be conceptualized in front of the students so that they could understand the nature of creative work. Alphonse Henry also joined us. He is an artist in the Civic Arts program, as well as being a former student of the school. The program will be started with the students after the holiday, when the students return for the first time to the new school. They have been holding classes at St Louis Gonzague.
This morning we met with 6 of the artists at the Digicel Foundation Ecole Portail Leogane. This is the first school in the Civic Arts in Schools program, and one of two schools in the program constructed by the Digicel Foundation.
The artists walked the site with the Director and chatted with one of the classes about the meaning of art in the students' lives. The children were very excited by the project and welcomed the artists with a song.
The artists were interested in several areas of the site and we had an animated discussion about the type of installation that would be best, and the nature of the materials to be used. The artists liked an area at the entry, a corner made of two long walls that face the gate, for an installation site. This is also planned to be the location of a small 'jardin potager' or vegetable garden. The artists suggested thatthis would be a nice nourishing synergy: art and food. Another possible site was in the back of the long site, in direct line of sight from the center of the school. A problem is the prominence of the WC building next to this spot. It was discussed that a wall that might be placed in front of the building, shielding the users, could be part of the art installation.
The artists have been asked to submit their concept design in one week. The panel will be convened to study the entries, the site locations, the materials and budget of each submission. They will select the winner who may receive funds to complete the commission by January.
Some of the artists have submitted concept designs for the project. We are planning to take a group to Portail Leogane next week.
[note from fr Farell of St Louis Gonzague school, stating that although they are very excited by the project they would like to put it off for a while. They would like to plan to include the installation of the art work as part of their building plaanning, and would like to wait until more of the construction of the school is completed.]

We have collected a really wonderful selection of artists and have introduced all of them to the schools we have. Based on the advice of our panel,we asked the artists to select one or two schools that they were interested in. We planned to take them to each site, to see the place, meet the directors and some of the students. They would then each prepare a 'sketch' of their idea for the project, and the panel ( with the school director) would then select the artist who would then develop their idea further ( the 'winner').
All went well except for the two issues:
1. most of the schools are not ready for the artists to visit, and there are right now really only 8 total. ( 6 of ours ( including HOK) and 2 digicel)
2. We have some world class artists that we have convinced to participate and we would like to have them select the school/ give them a school rather than ask them to compete.
So, we have decided to start with one school and see how it goes.
We have chosen St Louis Gonzague because it is built and the school is excited to do the project. We plan to take the 6 artists who selected it as their first choice to the site to meet the school. We will ask them to draw up their ideas and then we will ask the panel to make a selection and go forward.
When other schools are closer to being ready we plan to match a few of the big artists to them. So the project will be half competition and half invitation.
The second school could be the Digicel school Portail Leogane which opened on friday ( they changed days and we couldn't make it to the opening with the artists, too bad).
We feel strongly that we will get better proposals with schools that are at least partly in construction
I also want to get the kinks of the program out before going too far.

I met with Elizabeth Headon of the Digicel Foundation to discuss which of their schools would participate in the Civic Art in Schools Program.
We selected:
1. Portail Leogane ( which will be finished by Oct 1)
2. College Classique d'haiti (still undergoing construction)
We discussed the outline of the program and the nature of the condition of school construction in Haiti. We are all very excited about the project.
KE
The artists were invited to attend a meeting at the Rebuilding Center on October 6, 2011. 24 artists attended. Renderings, photographs and site plans indicating potential locations for art installations for each of the ten schools were on display and the architects described each in detail with a slide show. The artists asked lots of questions and after much discussion they were invited to make a choice of 3 schools that interested them. The choices were made based on the school community, the settings and the stories of the schools.
The Architecture for Humanity Architects will take the artists to visit the schools in small groups to see the conditions and to meet the students and the staff to discuss the art project. Based on these initial conversations the artists will present design sketches and/or models of their ideas for the installation. The concept designs will be reviewed by the panel and a winner selected. Then each artist will work with the school community, the Panel to bring the art work to completion.

Meeting with CIVIC ARTS Panel
Attendees:
Jean Rene Lafontant, AFH
Kate Evarts, AFH
Georges Apollon, Architect
Ralph Allen, Artist
Where: RBC
Meeting Notes:
Due to last minute issues only two panel members were able to attend. In any case we had a passionate discussion which evolved into the decision to invite all of the artists to choose among the 10 schools to design artwork for. AFH will introduce the artists to the schools with drawings, renderings, site plans and histories. The artists would then select 2 or 3 of their top choices. The small self selected groups would visit the schools, with AFH, to see the site and to meet the school community. Based on this visit the artists will be invited to prepare design sketches and models to convey their concept ideas. These submissions will be reviewed by the panel , and the school representatives, and a 'winner' selected.
We all conclude that this is a better process and will yield better results.
Draft Agenda
To Discuss:
The job of the committee:
• Initial screening of artists, criteria for selection
• Decide how to match schools and artists
• Decide on how community meeting will work, the process, and who is involved: School director, staff, Artist, AfH, Committee members as they wish,
and students and teachers and community members
• Design process, how is committee involved in design and budgeting
• Budget:: how much is the max budget for each artist
• how to figure fabrication/materials costs
• the artists shall not be financially responsible for transport of the art work to the site, nor for the installation. It may also be largely beyond their expertise. Therefore it was suggested that the offer be made to the artist of a grant of a specific amount for the creation of the piece, including fabrication and materials, and that the rest be covered by administrative monies.

Registered Artists:
27 artists has submitted their applications. Among them, 3 are major artists end are pre-qualified to create sculptures. For example Lionel ST Eloi and his son Shiler. These guys are extremely excited about this art program, after a visit at their home. According to Shiler, the studio FAMILY ARTS includes: ENARTS, Atelier Booz and COPARTS. No one from COPARTS or has sent applications yet. The St Eloi team, because of their excitement, visited the Elie Dubois site. They may be given the opportunity to create artwork for several schools.
An other god artist noticed his Josué Blanchard. And by hasard he's in touch with Wilson Dor from Montruis.
Finding a hundred of artists who makes big scale works and develop a theme is impossible assumed people like art gallery director Mireille Jérôme, the St Eloi artists. They're maybe right, because there is a lot of overlapping between the artist list in art places.
The Panel
It is composed of five personalities:
1- Mireille Jérôme, Art Gallery Director -Contacts: [Les Ateliers Jérôme]- Contacts: # 34 11 98 33 ; lesateliersjerome@yahoo.fr
2- Georges Apollon, Architect -Contacts: # 34 03 32 72 ; gcapollon@yahoo.com

This last person is difficult to establish contact with. He's very interesting and important ; he taught and trained so much artists in this country. He lives in Léogane since the january 12th 2010 earthquake. He use to live in Carrefour Feuille, pPort-au-Prince. Visit his website : www.boozart.com
The panel's Task
1) Go through the applications (what mean are we going to provide?)
2) Acknowledgment/value: Recognize the civic art theme within the work of arts.
3) Security: See if there is no mental and physical harm coming from the Art work
4) Match them with the schools.
5) Produce a report document.

Celeur finally made his delivery, not one site like it was supposed to, after months of waiting. Most important is that he got payed. He was among the first to have finished, not to say the first. The sculpture was brought up to the AFH Maison.
