Choosing a School Partner
There are four ways of participating in the challenge. Design teams can partner with a school of their choosing OR partner with one of three school building partners. After entering the challenge you have access to in-depth design briefs about each building partner before choosing one.
Your competition entry includes summaries of each of the project sites and links to view the full design briefs. Once you choose which site you're going to design for, selecting that site in your competition entry will add the full brief to your entry page so you can easily reference it while you design.
Finding a partner
We invite participants to partner with a school in their community or partner with one of our school building partners. If you are an architect or designer looking or a school to partner with, or a school looking for an architect, post information about yourself to our partner request forum.
Design Briefs
Entering the challenge gives you access to in-depth design briefs that include videos, useful links, and in-depth design criteria. Once you have entered the challenge a competition entry is created where you can add your project description and images for the jury to see. Your competition entry includes summaries of each of the project sites and a link to view the full design briefs.
Additional resources:
After entering, your competition entry also includes links to a variety resources about green building, IT, energy efficiency, adaptive reuse, and much more.

My question relates to teaming up with a school. Is it essential for this design competition to show student participation in ytour entry? I am an academic who studies the foundations of education. I have a design professional who would be willing to partner with me. We are interested in this competition and have an educational partner to team up with. The task of engaging students though is very complicated. With my insight into education, we were hoping to conceive the project using the context of the educational partner, for which I also belong as a board member. They would still use the prize money should we win.
We encourage and highly recommend student participation. If you have seen the design briefs we have not made it mandatory. So you are welcome to collaborate and submit a design with your education partners.
