Jury Process
In March 2008, we will hold an online jury made up of experts from a field of interest related to the particular project. Initially a culling will be done to eliminate any entries that do not meet all the criteria and guidelines set out in the competition. Then the first round of jury members will go through each entry to select the top twenty to twenty five schemes.
In Round Two a smaller jury made up of members from Architecture for Humanity, AMD and the client (including end-users) will review the top designs and select finalists and honorable mentions. As soon as the second round is completed we will announce the finalists to the site and make all the entries public.
In April Round Three will take place. Interviews will be conducted with each finalist to find out their commitment for implementing the solution and to judge the viability of their scheme. During this month we will also hold a 'People's Choice Award' allowing the general public to pick the entry they prefer. more details on voting on the people's choice will be made available shortly.
Jurors will access the submissions via Worldchanging. Jurors will use the competition document, the selection criteria, their own expertise, and information from any questions and answers that arise during the judging process.
The firms, partners, and professional associates of the jurors are enjoined from participating in the competition. If a juror is found to be knowingly involved in any material way with a submission, the juror will be replaced at the discretion of the competition organizers.
If for some unseen reason a juror has to drop out, a replacement will be found by the competition organizers. If the jury deadlocks, the client will cast the tie-breaking vote.
Selection Criteria
Selection criteria will include:
- The design is original
